Tokri (The Basket), made by Indian animator Suresh Eriyat and Studio Eeksaurus, is doing a lot of talking about himself. In fact, the short film made in stop motion has been presented in many festivals, winning several international awards.
Tokri (The Basket) tells a story about family, the bond between parent and child, emotions and what we do when we really love someone. There is no need for words, just images, faces and hyper-detailed places, the music that envelops us and accompanies us all the time.
Eriyat’s is a small masterpiece that shows once again how both the world of short films and the world of stop motion still have a lot to prove and nothing to envy to big film productions.
