UDPDATE APRIL 30th
Oasis gave us a journey back in time, after the last album released in 2008, today at midnight the wait for “Don’t stop…” is finally over.
The voice is that of Noel Gallagher, who gives us 4 minutes and 56 seconds of happiness, reminding us once again, not to stop laughing, not to stop being happy.
It’s not every day that during the cleaning of the house, we find old demos, with an initial “one, two, three” that is a prelude to a very high-level song, marked by the masterful use of a guitar that makes “Don’t Stop … ” a perfect ballad in full Oasis style.
Fifteen years after the turbulent separation, now you just have to listen to a small demo found in the bathroom cabinet, but that made us wait until midnight to listen to it and consume it, like in the past.
There was something in the air, in the last few days the tweets were a bit emblematic. Now we have confirmation from Noel Gallagher himself on Twitter. It’s “Don’t Stop“, a version recorded about fifteen years ago by the Oasis, a gift to all the fans.
“Like everyone else lately I’ve had a lot of time on my hands and so I finally decided to find out what’s inside the hundreds of unlabeled CDs in some boxes I have at home. By pure chance I came across an old CD that I thought was lost”.
The singer himself, however, is not sure when the piece was recorded.
“As far as I know, there’s only one other version of this song out there and it’s from a 15-year-old Hong Kong souncheck. I don’t know if the version of the soundcheck is before or after the demo because there’s no date on the CD.
We’ll just have to find out tonight, but the Oasis are back to make their fans happy!
