Andrew Bannecker is an award-winning American artist-illustrator who really has a unique and unmistakable style made of bright colors and pronounced sharp angles. His works are marked by a not indifferent emotional force that very often has a veil of nostalgia inside. Institutions such as  Communication Arts, American Illustration, The Society of Illustrators and One Show have included him in the list of 200 best illustrators in the world.

He lent his creativity to brands such as Coca-Cola, Nike, Neiman Marcus, Oreo, and Starbucks, just to name a few. His incredible talent lies in making every table magic with very few squared lines, which are rendered three-dimensional thanks to the palette: the scenes are therefore decomposed and reworked almost as if they were Rubik’s cubes. Looking at them these illustrations are not only nostalgic and intimate but also playful and fun.

The Manchester Lamps, the installation that tells the history of the city

The Manchester Lamps, the installation that tells the history of the city

Giulia Guido · 2 years ago · Art

In the center of Manchester, you will come across five giant lamps, this is The Manchester Lamps, the latest work by Acrylicize.

Inspired by the famous quote by Sir Robert Peel What Manchester thinks today, the world does tomorrow, this public work of art pays tribute to the glorious industrial past of the city. At the center of a square, five tall lamps between 3 and 6 meters high have been installed, which invite to social interaction. Each of the five pieces represents a significant innovation for the local history and a different style.

The motifs on the Art Deco lamp celebrate the physicist Earnest Rutherford and his studies that led to the splitting of the atom. The Art Nouveau style celebrates the Chetham’s Library, the oldest library in the United Kingdom. The honeycomb lattices that decorate the 1950s bedside lamp refer to the working bee, the symbol of the city. The green desk light represents the famous mathematician Alan Turing. Finally, the fifth lamp, an Anglepoise model, projects shapes and colors on the walls, looking to the future.

A unique and original way to give new life to a public space and, perhaps, to an entire city.

Huge murals by street artist legend Tristan Eaton

Huge murals by street artist legend Tristan Eaton

Claudia Fuggetti · 2 years ago · Art

Tristan Eaton, born in 1978 in Los Angeles, approached street art as a teenager, painting on every possible and imaginable surface: bins, billboards and much more. At just 18 he designed his first toy for Fisher-Price, becoming one of the most important exponents of “Art Toys”.

In 2004 he founded his creative agency Thunderdog Studios in New York and has had clients of the caliber of Nike, Disney, Barak Obama, and Versace, for which he realized the facade of the new store in Honolulu.

Eaton‘s large-scale murals can be found in over 16 countries from Paris to Shanghai and this is why he is considered one of the most important contemporary street artists and his fame is destined to grow further. His style is pop and is strongly influenced by the aesthetics of comics where lettering and colors merge to create scenes inside other scenes, for a unique and original result.

Anthony Zinonos and his collages that talks about emotions

Anthony Zinonos and his collages that talks about emotions

Giulia Guido · 2 years ago · Art

Anthony Zinonos has found a way to express himself in the art of collage.

With a careful and unique use of the materials he finds to create his works, a deep interest in color and a lot of imagination Anthony creates collages that represent the human experience. They show, in their own way, emotions and universally common situations.

So, we see people relaxing, others trying to hold together the pieces of something or others taking a scooter ride. For his work, the American artist often resorts to the use of the negative, or tears of paper. Each compositional element interacts with others, interweaving in order to compose images of great impact.

Short video for Breakfast – Heart of Africa, discovering Rwanda and Uganda

Short video for Breakfast – Heart of Africa, discovering Rwanda and Uganda

Giulia Guido · 2 years ago · Art

For the first appointment with Short video for Breakfast of this “school year” I propose a trip. A few years ago, the video maker Michael Sugrue resumed his journey in Rwanda and Uganda, then creating the short Heart of Africa, to allow us to enjoy the climate of these places so different from our cities.

A part of the world that behind the poverty hides incredible landscapes, faces that reflect life, unique stories.

Put your headphones on and, thanks to Jongnic Bontemps‘ music and to the images, let yourself be dragged to distant lands. Who knows may not be the destination of your next summer.
